Seminar ID:  MCI – 1222   December 15, 2022

Introduction:

Misrepresentation occurs when information is provided to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) that is inconsistent, inaccurate, or incomplete. Misrepresented information can be provided (or omitted) by the applicant, a family member, or their representative.

Misrepresentation is considered an offense as per Immigration, Refugee & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). A person can be refused entry to Canada, have his/ her legal status in Canada revoked, or have an application rejected if misrepresentation is found anywhere in the process.

A finding of misrepresentation is tough to turn around but luckily, there are solutions to challenge it on some occasions.

Program: Crucial Role of Business Plan in Canadian Business Immigration Programs, 2022-23

Seminar ID:  CBP – 1022   October 20, 2022

Introduction:

Business plans are used by entrepreneurs to secure funding for their business ideas or by small business owners looking to refine their business strategy.

A business plan for your client can be an integral part of their visa application, and the way it is presented can make the difference between their visa being approved or disapproved. The visa business plan defines who they are as well as their prospective business for the visa. Every visa business plan is different from the next, based on the purpose of the business.

The business plan generally projects 3-5 years ahead and outlines the route a company intends to take to reach its yearly milestones, including revenue projections. A well-thought-out plan also helps the entrepreneur to step back and think objectively about the key elements of their business venture and informs their decision-making on a regular basis.

Program: Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot, 2022-23

Seminar ID:  RNI – 0922   September 22, 2022

Introduction:

Through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, the Government of Canada works with small and remote communities in Ontario, Western Canada and the three territories to attract and retain foreign workers.

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is a new community-driven immigration program. It is designed to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities by creating a path to permanent residence for skilled foreign workers who want to work and live in those communities.

The RNIP allows eligible employers to make full-time permanent job offers to skilled foreign workers who can help fill identified labour shortages in our city.

Each of the 11 communities across Canada participating in the pilot has tailored their immigration program to meet the economic goals and to develop their local economy by supporting the development of their workforce in high-demand jobs.

Seminar ID:  TRL – 0522   May 19, 2022

Introduction:
There are many reasons for refusal, depending on the type of visa.

A visa refusal means the applicant did not establish eligibility for a visa to the satisfaction of the officer, as is required under IRPA.

The type of Visa refusal will determine whether or not your client is a good candidate for an appeal. An appeal may be a viable option if you believe that the immigration officer made an incorrect decision when they refused the client’s application.

An employer can offer employment to a candidate from Express Entry, supported by an LMIA.

Program: Extension & Restoration Temporary Visas and Post Graduate Work Permit, 2021-22

Seminar ID:    ERT – 1121

Introduction:

Temporary visas allow foreigners to live legally in Canada for a short time. At the end of that period, the legal status expires and they must leave Canada. To stay longer, they must change their current status to stay longer in Canada.

If a visitor, worker, or student loses their status in Canada, the ability exists to apply to restore their status. Restoration of status is needed by any individual who allows their temporary permit to expire before submitting a new application but still would like to remain in Canada.

A post-graduation work permit (PGWP) allows students to remain in Canada and work full-time after they complete a certificate, diploma, or degree that is at least 8 months in length. They don’t need a job offer to apply and can work anywhere in Canada in any occupation, even if it’s unrelated to their studies.
